Design Data Detailing System – SDS/2

The diversity and flexibility we offer in design and fabrication is virtually unlimited. Our in-house detailing staff utilizes SDS/2 detailing system from Design Data to provide the detailing accuracy and speed needed in today’s steel construction industry. Our professional engineering staff assures that the structural integrity of our connection designs meet or exceed all requirements.

SDS/2 is used for 90% of the detailing services of Merrill Iron & Steel, Inc., and AutoCAD 2002 LT is used in about 10% of applications. We currently have 11 SDS/2 stations and 10-AutoCAD stations. With certified Detailers having a minimum of a two-year associates degree, and our Professional Engineer on staff, we have the ability to perform our detailing functions to the highest level of accuracy, and professional skill.

When out-sourced detailing efforts are required, Merrill Iron & Steel, Inc. has established partners that meet the needs of any given project. We experience "on time deliveries" and the "highest level of accuracy" with the partners we do business with. This level of professionalism allows Merrill Iron & Steel, Inc., to meet the detailing demands projects often impose.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a reality at Merrill Iron & Steel, Inc., and in fact seems to be one of the most efficient means of transmitting drawing files.
